Takemichi Hanagaki, a man whose life is in ruins, as he is sent 12 years into the past after learning his ex-girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana, has been murdered by the Tokyo Manji Gang. His mission is to join the gang and work his way up to the top in order to change the future and save Hinata. He partners with Hinata's younger brother, Naoto, who helps him navigate the past and the different timelines he creates.
